my favorite jeans
I want to wear jeans every single day. These are the pairs I have on constant rotation—starting at $40.
I am a denim girl. If I could wear jeans every day, I would. I can usually glance at a pair and know immediately whether they’ll work for me. At this point, it’s instinct. My current favorite cuts are a classic straight leg and a subtle balloon. And while rumors of the balloon silhouette’s demise continue to circulate, I’m not letting it go just yet. The key, for me, is restraint—less exaggerated, more refined.
I truly believe you only need three pairs of denim:
A classic blue straight leg
A black straight or wide leg
A white straight or wide leg
That’s it. Everything else is optional.
My denim rules:
100% cotton. No exceptions.
I can always tell when elastic is mixed in—the drape is never quite right, and the shape doesn’t hold. If rigid denim feels uncomfortable, size up. I promise it makes all the difference.
Nothing cropped.
This is tricky, because brands love an ankle-length jean. I personally see little purpose for it (perhaps a summer sandal moment, at best). Longer is always better. A full-length inseam reads instantly more chic.
Baggier is better.
Denim looks best when it’s relaxed. A little extra room through the leg gives jeans an effortless, intentional feel. Reasonable minds may disagree, but I will always choose a looser fit.
Without further ado, here’s my denim rotation—the pairs I reach for constantly and truly couldn’t live without.

And remember—your denim journey never really ends. Our bodies change, so don’t hesitate to size up or down when needed. And yes, the hardest part: trying jeans on. It’s a mildly inhumane process, but without testing a few (or a few dozen), you’ll never find your perfect pair.
